Developing better habits will help too. Cook your food instead of eating out. Bring the leftover or a sandwich for lunch instead of buying food. Bring a coffee maker to work (if there's none) instead of going to Starbucks will save you a bunch. Just things like that can help.

You will also save money by going for a cheap cell phone plan. Do you really need the unlimited minutes on an iphone? You can just as well use the $30 per month plan with a free phone. That's a saving of $70 a month, or $840 a year!

For those that get along well with your neighbors, you can also share your internet. We have been paying our neighbor $10 a month to use his wifi. Why pay the $30 - $40 a month if you can get it for only $10?

Less Starbucks, Less Starbucks, Less Starbucks. Paying $5 for a drink there adds up very fast if you frequent that establishment. That's the price of a drink in most bars!

KyleHwang Agrees: Yes, $5 latte is not very cool.
GusCooper Agrees: Starbucks seem to have gone downhill in terms of quality and taste too.

I can speak from the last 3 years (post college) that the best thing you can do is to cook your own food and shop smart. Cooking your own food is healthy and at the same time, you can buy the ingredient when they are on sale. Coupon clipping will also save you money, especially if your town has double/triple coupon value days.

cooking at home and cutting down unnecessary services can help you reducing monthly expenses.

Now you are getting free Wi-Fi so the Starbucks option might be gone.
